ウォーロック was the monthly Japanese version of Warlock magazine and was published across sixty-three issues between 1986 and 1992.
Creation[]
It was initially subtitled "The Fighting Fantasy Magazine" for the first fifty issues before the subtitle changed to "The Fantasy & Story Game Magazine" for the remainder of the run. It was priced at ¥490 per issue and published as a full-colour, 64-page, A4 publication.
Purpose[]
Initially the magazine mainly reprinted material from the English version of the magazine, but the short run of that version meant that later issues would have to be filled with entirely new material. This lead to the magazine becoming more of a generic role-playing gamebook magazine rather than one focussed exclusively on Fighting Fantasy.
Staff and Writers[]
- Supervisor: 安田均 (Yasuda, Hitoshi) (#1~50)
- Chief Editor: 多摩豊 (Tama, Yutaka) (#1~35); 近藤功司 (Kondo, Koshi) (#36~63)
