Alchemists are practitioners of alchemy - the mystic art of creating magical potions and powders. Many alchemists can create magical brews, but many hope to accomplish more grandiose feats, such as turning lead into gold or creating a longevity elixir.[1] Alchemists earn their living by creating and selling chemical substances - both magical potions, and non-magical preparations such as Gunpowder and medicines. Much of the public, however, regards alchemists as either insane or deceitful.[1]
Origins and Distribution[]
Alchemists are found all over Titan, but seem to be most common in the Old World. Karam Gruul's Notura magic was described as a "perverse mixture of magic, alchemy and physiology."[2] Royal Lendle is home to numerous alchemists.[3] There is a Brotherhood of Alchemists in Chalannabrad.[4] Alchemists in Ruddlestone have created explosive grenades as weapons.[5]
A Jar of Ointment found in Balthus Dire's Black Tower contained an alchemist's Healing Balm.[6]There were alchemical jars and herbs stored in the Tower of Hades. [7] Yaztromo kept some alchemical glassware in his tower along with other magical paraphernalia.[8]
The Juja also retained some alchemical equipment in his domain.[9] Metal Rot was an alchemical solution sold in Royal Lendle; it would dissolve most known metals but leave flesh unharmed.[10] An Alchemical Sphere was an assassin's weapon found in the city of Blackhaven; the Sphere would shatter and release a deadly corrosive mist if hurled at an opponent.[11]
The Red Wizard had an apparatus that discharged liquids in alchemical glassware into tubes.[12]
