The Anvils of the Gods are a mountain range in the Old World. They run across southern Lendleland, from the Eelsea to the Great Wall of Analand.[1]
The Orcs of the Throttled Skull live under the Anvils of the Gods, in a series of underground caves.[2] The Anvils have been described as having a warm climate, with cloud forests on their foothills and Elephants reported to be living in these forests. [3] The dragon-like creatures called Tatsu have been recorded dwelling in the Anvils. [4] Ogre Shamans are described as living in mountains "in the south" of Lendleland, so it is very likely some of them live in the Anvils. [5] Indeed, reports of the mysterious "The Three" - Orges who command powerful magic- come from the area near the Anvils.[6]
According to one source, monsters dwell in the Anvils that often attack the Lendlelanders. [7] Communities of Dwarfs also dwell in these mountains, who trade with the Lendlelanders.[7]
It is possible (due to their similar geographical positions), that in the time before the Splitting of Irritaria, the Anvils of the Gods were joined to the mountain range now called the Mountains of Grief in Allansia. [8]
