The Baklands are a vast area of wasteland in Kakhabad, stretching north from the Jabaji River to the Forest of the Snatta.[1][2][3]
Description[]
The area of the Baklands outside Kharé is unusually silent and featureless, "devoid of any vegetation, creatures, or any structural punctuation to the horizon". [4]
The Baklands are almost bereft of flora, except for the occasional group of stunted, leafless trees, and patches of "peculiar plants". [5][6]
The land is contaminated by the power of Chaos, and raw energy sweeps out from the Magical Planes onto the Baklands.[6] Strange creatures dwell here, and odd phenomena occur in the Baklands.[6] Day and night in the Baklands are controlled, not by the sun and moon, but by supernatural forces.[6]
Sometimes in spring, a disturbing optical illusion occurs in the Baklands. Here, the sun seems to not set at nightfall; instead, the sun stays fixed in the sky for weeks on end (although elsewhere on Titan, the sun sets and rises as normal).[7]
The Baklands' main inhabitants are wandering groups of Black Elves, and the Klattamen tribes, who live here in small villages. [8]
