The Chaos Manticore was a creature found sporadically in the Wastes of Chaos and the Deadlands and an example that nothing is exempt from the mutating powers of the Chaos which pervades those regions.[1]
Description[]
A Manticore was a creature possessing a lion's body, the wings of a bat, and a human face. It possessed a number of iron-hard spikes that adorned its tail.
Origins and Distribution[]
Chaos manticores were mostly found within the continent of Khul.
Special Abilities[]
A chaos manticore was capable of flight.
Unlike Allansian or Old World manticores, a chaos manticore was able to attack a victim with its tail spikes first before they engaged in melee. They usually flew overhead, pouring spikes onto their victims from a safe distance.[2] Each salvo contained six spikes, out of a total of 24, but these could only be directed at a single victim at a time.
History[]
During the creation of the first Deathtrap Dungeon, Baron Sukumvit Charavask had a chaos manticore captured and installed within it. The manticore in question was caught by the adventurer Wanushu.[3]
