The Cragrock Peaks was a mountain range dividing Gallantaria and the Northlands.
Description[]
It was home to many outlaws, sects and behemoths of a bygone age that have migrated to the Peaks over the centuries, including the Netherworld Sorcerers. A precious territorial balance exists, and the foothills are avoided by all but the most foolhardy.[1] The Cragrocks are known for their stormy weather. [2] Strong winds would blow through the Cragrock's valleys toward Windswept Moor; this was why the people of Forrin built a windmill on the Moor.[3] The tallest mountain in the Cragrocks is Mount Cuspid, near to the town of Casper and the Onyx Sea. [4]
There were valuable mineral deposits in the Cragrocks, as the presence of Disused Mines near Casper testifies to.[4] The eastern part of the Cragrocks were also reported to be the haunt of wisdom birds, a species of owl-like legendary animals.[5]
At the western edge of the Cragrocks lies the Glaydon Forest, known for misty weather, beautiful birdsong, and being the haunt of ghosts and demons.[6]
History[]
King Constain and his family were murdered in Narrow Pass in the Cragrocks by the treacherous Baron Tag. [7] The Brimstone Dragon had its lair in the Cragrock Peaks, near the town of Klisdon.[8]
The Snake Demon Myurr also had a tower in the Cragrocks. [9]
The southern edge of the Cragrocks was part of the province of North Gallantaria, governed by Duke Alfred Dremmers, a vassal of the King of Gallantaria.[10]
