Darkwood Forest[1] was an ancient forest in Old Allansia where Yaztromo's Tower is situated, in the southern fringes. The wizard Gereth Yaztromo is based there.
Description[]
The forest was bordered on the north by the village of Stonebridge, and on the east by the Moonstone Hills.[2][3][4] The Catfish River meandered through the forest.[2]
The area is nicknamed "The Forest of Doom" and avoided by most travellers, except those who urgently needed to travel through the woods.[1] It took about a day for an average human to walk from the southern border of Darkwood Forest to the northern, assuming they were not seriously injured or killed by the inhabitants.[5]
Inhabitants[]
There are many dangerous and sometimes evil creatures living in the forest, including gremlins, goblins and forest giants. [4][6]
The dark elf city Tìranduil Kelthas is located in caves deep beneath the forest.[7][8] Xortan Throg has a tower-fortress on a hill at the edge of the forest. [9]
The wood elf village of Caêranos is also found in the forest. [10] The Orc village of Shuggur, home of the famous Uglar's Orc restaurant, is also in the forest.[11]
Further Notes[]
