A Duellist (also spelt "Duelist") is a fighter who specialises in duelling, the form of ritualized combat popular among young male nobles.[1][2][3][4]
Description[]
Duels on Titan usually occur when a noble claims his (or her) honour has been insulted, and demands satisfaction by organising a duel with the person accused of perpetrating the insult.[3] However, duels are also held to resolve disputes; Kelyn the Corsair killed the villainous Captain Barbarossa on in a sword duel; this resulted in Kelyn taking over Barbarossa's ship, the Kraken.[5]
A Duellist usually fights with a sword (especially a rapier) or a dagger. However, where gunpowder firearms are available, duellists fight with pistols as well.[2]
Notable Duellists[]
- Cyrano the humanoid swordfish was a skilled duellist with his blade.[6]
- Professor Van Heldenghast of Blackhaven was a former duellist.[7]
- Baraban the Assassin of Port Blacksand kills his targets by deliberately challenging them to duels.[2]
- Lord Nysal Falashti of Arion often challenges people who have insulted him to sword duels.[8]
