Ganjees were a race of fickle undead creatures native to the Spirit Plane.[1]
Description[]
The Ganjees true form is unknown, but they have appeared as a flying ghostly-white or blue, luminescent head.[2] However, it appears that they could feel threatened by a sword, implying that they have a physical form.[3]
The Ganjees have gained an infamous reputation within the Citadel. One of the key clues to their nature, the book Creatures and Kingdoms of the Craggen Rock, has been damaged, so suppressing the information. They are a danger to servants serving dinner as they may eat the servant if that person is still there when they arrive. Since the Sisters of Sheena were preparing a cooked dwarf, this implies that the Ganjees are carnivorous but prefer cooked food seated at a table.[4]
It was possible to bribe them, though a ganjee was likely to renege on any deal made.[1]
Origins and Distribution[]
Several Ganjees inhabited Balthus Dire's Citadel, referring to themselves as brothers.[2]
They were said to be related to ghosts, but unlike ghosts, who were trapped on the Spirit Plane, Ganjees chose to stay on the Spirit Plane voluntarily.[1]
Special Abilities[]
Ganjees could attack to wound but not kill, extinguish fires, see through illusions, and cancel out magical ability.[5] If threatened, they could respond with a blood-curdling scream. [3]
Further Notes[]
- Ganjees were known to fear the Jewel of Light.[6]
- The history books of Titan record several occasions when "pacts had to be made with frightful Demons and Elementals in order to flush out a nest of rampaging Ganjees".[7]
