Hero of Fortress Throngard

The Hero of Fortress Throngard was the squire of Sir Falfax the Fair. When Sir Falfax was captured by servants of the evil wizard Throngard, who preyed upon travellers in the wood of Ergon, the hero allowed the wizard's servants to capture him or her in order to affect a rescue.

The hero freed Sir Falfax and many other prisoners and was knighted by Sir Falfax.

It is possible that the hero also took part in other books, either before or afterwards, although few books in the main series have heroes who could reasonably be described as squires or knights.
