Kabeshian refers to the old empire on Khul that ruled before the War of the Wizards. The Khanate of Kabesh, or Kabeshian Empire, was ruled from the city of Kabesh. Under the rule of Khan Gyorgir, the Empire stretched from Tak in the south to Kalagar in the north. The empire used Ancient Kabeshian as its language. The Kabeshian Empire traded with the city of Arion in the east.

The Empire was destroyed during the War of the Wizards; its capital Kabesh was "pulled apart, stone by stone", and its fertile heartlands became the uninhabitable Wastes of Chaos.

The only people who know the Ancient Kabeshian language today are antiquarians, and old creatures like the Sphinxes.

The Flatland Nomads tribes who dwell in Kazan, near Lagash and on the grassy area where the Pikestaff Plain meets the Battlegrounds, are all largely descended from the Kabeshian people.
