Kalagar is a port in northern Khul, on the coast of the Sea of Silver. Kalagar is built on the edge of a cliff overlooking the sea.[1]
Description[]
There is a road between Kalagar and Arion that runs across the Pikestaff Plain; this road runs across the River Endre.[1] A journey from Arion to Kalagar takes about ten days on horseback. [1]
Other than that we only have snippets of information on Kalagar. In Masks of Mayhem, the ruler of Arion may encounter a farmer with two Kalagarian Ridgeback guard dogs.[2]
There is a medical college in Kalagar.[3]
In Phantoms of Fear the elf shaman Eldenurin may meet travellers from Kalagar who are hoping "to escape the doom which the Kalagarian prophet Vanator has foretold for the world".[4]
There are "engraved tablets" in Kalagar that pre-date the Splitting.[1]
History[]
The city was built on the ruins of an earlier Atlantean city which existed before the Splitting of Irritaria. [1]
Under the rule of Khan Gyorgir, the empire of Kabesh stretched from Tak in the south to Kalagar in the north.[5] Kalagar survived the Spawning of Chaos in Khul, as its presence on the map in Titan - The Fighting Fantasy World testifies,[6] and in the third century After Chaos it found itself at one end of a trade-route across the continent to Ximoran, via Ashkyos and Djiretta, along which metals, furs and ivory pass.[7]
Notable Inhabitants[]
The prophet Vanator was born in Kalagar.[4] The historian Kattas the Antiquarian makes her home in Kalagar.[1]
