A Krell was a large, ancient species of crustacean life form, not to be confused with the primate of the same name.[1][2]
Description[]
They had eight limbs, the back ones built for springing and propulsion, while the two front ones ended in claws.
Their eyes were on stalks.
The Krell was intelligent also, and could converse in the tongues of Men, but merely regarded them as more food. They were enemies of the Sea Sprites of the Inland Sea, where it too dwelt.
They also fed upon races such as sea elves or Merfolk, living near to small pockets of them. For defence a deep sea predator of some kind might dwell near its cave, providing an additional obstacle for would-be krell-slayers.[2]
