Lake Nykosa was the largest lake in Allansia. The lake was located on the edge of the Flatlands.
Description[]
It was a vast expanse of fresh water in the middle of a stagnant, reed-choked swamp which stretched as far as the Sea of Pearls to the east. In parts of the swamp, flat salt beds had formed, which were harvested by the human tribes who lived near the marsh to be traded.[1] Between the lake and the Sea of Pearls was located a vast stretch of reed-choked area, with pools and areas of quicksand dotting the region. Crossing the marshes was highly dangerous unless an experienced native guide was hired. [2]
The Craggen Heights ran from south of Salamonis in the west to the western edge of Lake Nykosa in the east.[3] A watercourse, the River Nykosa, flowed from the Heights into the westernmost part of the Lake.[3]
The rare herb known as cunnelwort, valued by magic-users, grew on the eastern shore of Lake Nykosa, in an area known as the Fenlands.[4]<[5][6] The cunnelwort is protected by the marsh goblins of K'Amoole, a tribe in the region who regarded Cunnelwort as sacred.[5][6]
History[]
The father of Oldoran Zagor, Gerlekus Zagor, retrieved at one point a magical chalice from an uncharted island in Lake Nykosa, that was guarded by mutant gonchong-infected undead giants. [7]
