Magical Tattooing is a school of Magic.[1] It is a rare but valued magical style, and Magical Tattooists command high prices for their work. This type of magic involves slowly inking a picture with magical powers onto the skin of a volunteer. The Tattoo will have a particular magical effect and will benefit the tattooed person.[1] The Tattoo will thus allow an adventurer, sailor or other person access to magic power without the years of training other forms of Magic require.

A person may only wear one Magic Tattoo, and such Tattoos can never be removed.[1] A Magical Tattoo must be visible to work its magic; if covered by clothing or armour, such a Tattoo will be "latent" and there will be no effects until the Tattoo is visible.[1]

Magical Tattooists can be found in larger towns and cites across Titan, usually ports.[1][2] Jimmy Quicktint in Port Blacksand is a famous practitioner of Magical Tattooing.[2] Jimmy's son Garton Quicktint, who lives in Arion, also dispenses Magical Tattoos.[3] The Flesh and Pen Emporium in Kallamehr sells Magical Tattoos to customers for 25 Gold Pieces. [4] Such Tattoos are known to be used by adventurers in Femphrey.[5]

Notes[]

In the article on Black Elves in the The Warlock Returns Issue 6, it is that stated that "Some wise men think that Black Elves helped develop the art of magic tattoos, practiced today in large city ports".[6]
