A Maijem-Nosoth was a dangerous type of creature from other dimensions. [1]
Description[]
This scuttling horror had a foul, ulcerous body. Its single claw clicked repeatedly against its slimy carapace.[2] It had tentacles in addition to its claw, and crawled around on jointed legs. It was surrounded by a haze that made it difficult to focus on, and its appearance caused the eyes of mortals who looked at the creature to ache.[3] Maijem-Nosoth came in two forms with different statics, Minor and Major.[3]
Origins and Distribution[]
The Maijem-Nosoth was thought to be named after the scholar who first summoned such a being and was subsequently devoured.[3]
A Maijem-Nosoth came from the Realm of Gond on the Plane of Bile in the Infernal Pit; a Maijem-Nosoth was sometimes referred to as a "Lord of Gond".[1] [2]This foul creature came from alien dimensions and only magic could transport it to Titan. It could therefore be found anywhere it was summoned, usually as a single creature.
Evil wizards often summoned a Maijem-Nosoth to use as a sentinel or assassin. However, if the demon could not be constrained by powerful magic during the summoning, the Maijem-Nosoth would escape and attack any living creatures in the nearby area.[3]
Special Abilities[]
A Maijem-Nosoth is protected by a hard carapace (if using the Advanced Fighting Fantasy rules, a Maijem-Nosoth has Medium Armour).[3] Should the attacker's blow get past the Maijem-Nosoth's armour and hit the creature, roll one die. On a roll of 1 or 2, the creature suffers no damage; on a role of 3 or 4, the creature suffers one point of Stamina damage; on a role of 5 or 6, it suffers 2 points of Stamina damage.[3] [2] Maijem-Nosoth have one weakness; they cannot abide high-pitched noises. A person who whistles with their mouth when fighting the creature does it one point of Stamina damage per round. Someone who uses an actual whistle or set of pipes during combat with the creature will do it 3 points of Stamina damage per round. [3] [2]
