A Mamlik was a dangerous race of orc-like creature found in Khul, that was usually employed as an assassin. ^[1]

Description[]

Mamliks (also called Mamlik Assassins) were humanoids with fanged mouths, who favoured dark cloaks and leather armour.

They usually worked as mercenaries, in which case there would be one to six of them encountered, or as hired killers, in which case one would be encountered.^[1]

Origins and Distribution[]

The origins of the mamliks were unknown. They resembled a mutant cross between a Gark and a Man-Orc, and might have been related to these creatures.

Mamliks were usually found in South-Western Khul, near the city of Kelther, and the regions of Gorak, Kazan and Zamarra. ^[1] It was rumoured the creatures dwelt in a fortress hidden in the Greater Ilkhans mountains of Kazan, although given the danger of investigating Mamliks, no-one knows for sure.^[1]

All Mamliks were skilled at disguising themselves if needed..^[1]

Mercenary mamliks normally used swords and scimitars in combat. If working as an assassin, a mamlik would often be armed with a Death Spell Dagger. ^[1]
