Max was the leader of Max's Marauders, a mercenary group based in Zengis.[1]
Description[]
Max was a tall blonde woman who commanded a group of fighters composed of herself and nine human men. She herself dressed in leather armour.[2] Max and her employees frequently practised with wooden swords, which she also used to haggle prices.[3]
Services[]
Max hired out her crew for a standard rate of 200 Gold Pieces , guaranteeing the reliability of her men.[4] However, she was willing to haggle using wooden swords. The rules were that if she landed the first blow she would raise the price to 300GP, while if she was the first struck she would accept 100GP. She was noted to be an excellent swordswoman, but she also appreciated the fighting prowess of others.[5]
Battle against Agglax[]
During the attempt by a Champion of the Labyrinth to stop the rise of the Shadow Demon Agglax and his Army of Death, it was possible that the Champion hired Max's Marauders whilst in Zengis. If the Champion later decided to help a Warrior under attack by a Goblin, only Max could save the Champion from a crossbow bolt, but at the cost of her own life. Otherwise, it's possible she survived the battle. [6]
