A Minimite was a small type of humanoid creature found in the Old World.[1][2]

Description[]

Minimites were about the size of an adult Human's thumb, with dark hair, large insect-like wings and green-tinted skin.[1] They were a solitary race; the spells woven into their bodies prevented them from being in contact with other Minimites for more than a sort period of time.[1]

Although they tended to be friendly to travellers, they can be also be annoying as they would often follow such travellers without their permission.[2]

Origins and Distribution[]

Minimites are related to Sprites and Fairies.[1] Before the War of the Wizards, Minimites were famed throughout the Old World for their knowledge of High Magic and their vast erudition. [1] Following the outbreak of the War of the Wizards, the Minimites became alarmed at the rise of the armies of Chaos in Kakhabad.

Seeking a solution, the Minimites discovered the writings of the deranged mystic Aughm Lightchaser, the Vade Mecum Infernum.[3] The book contained a powerful and dangerous ritual, which the Minimites believed held their salvation. In 1998OT, the Minimites and their human allies gathered on a peak in eastern Mauristatia and carried out the this ritual, which destroyed most of the Kakhabian Chaotics and saved the Old World.[1][4]

After casting this extraordinary ritual, the Minimites expressed fears that such power would corrupt the species. To stop this, the Minimites agreed to become nomadic, wandering the continent alone, "prevented by intricate spells woven into the very fabric of their being from ever joining forces with others of their kind".[1][4][2]

Later Minimites were largely found in Kakhabad and Mauristatia.[4]

Special Abilities[]

Minimites had an area of "magical deadness" in their bodies that stopped all but the most powerful magic spells being cast in their presence.[1][5][2] For this reason, Minimites were loathed by most spell-casters.[4][2]
