Beyond the Plain of Bones lies the mountain range called the Mountains of Grief. The mountains stretch from the Swamplands surrounding Silur Cha to the Bay of Storms.[1] The mountains are described as "uncrossable" [2] and "impassable in many places". [1] Numerous rivers pass southward from the Mountains of Grief into the Glimmering Sea, giving the land south of the Mountains a humid climate.[1]
It is possible, due to their similar geographical positions, that the Mountains of Grief were once joined to the mountain range now called the Anvils of the Gods in the Old World, in the time before the Splitting of Irritaria. [3]
