A Mucalytic was a sewer dwelling beast with a trunk which exhaled potentially fatal gases at its enemies.[1]
Description[]
They were vaguely humanoid in shape and were roughly bear-sized. They covered themselves in filth and muck. Despite this, they had a trunk-like snout which poked out from the front of their faces, which was usually visible, snorting the air or bathing in the slime. They are revolting beasts and anyone encountering them in their cesspool of a lair would immediately lose stamina as a result of the pungent stench.[2]
In a fight, a mucalytic would flail about with its huge arms, but when it had softened up its opponent, it would resort to other tactics. After landing three successful blows, the mucalytic would grab hold of its opponent, draw them near to its mouth and breathe on them. A mucalytic could exhale highly poisonous fumes at will, of which even a short sniff was enough to kill.[2]
Origins and Distribution[]
Many folk-tales of their repulsive habits existed.[2]
No one is sure where the disgusting mucalytics came from, but it was well known that the Archmage of Mampang hired some to guard his dungeon. It was said that they still lurked beneath the citadel, wallowing in their slime and filth.
