The Pool Beast was a dreaded race of marsh-dwelling creature.
Description[]
They were brown many tentacled beasts, in whose yellow-eyed foreheads were said to grow a violet jewel of incredible value.[1]
Two of their tentacles ended in sharp claws, though a pool beast could use its maw of sharp fangs in combat as well.
Pool beasts possessed an immunity to some spells, such as illusions.
Origins and Distribution[]
Some scholars believed that pool beasts were grown within vats of slime by a sorcerer who dropped their signature jewel inside.
History[]
One pool beast was known to dwell within the Scorpion Swamp in north-west Khul.
