Red-Eyes were a race of humanoid creatures who possessed the ability to blast red beams of energy from their eyes.
Description[]

A Red-Eye-inhabited slum in Kharé.
Physically, red-eyes were thin, spindly looking humanoids distantly related to elves and humans. They were arrogant by nature and often delighted in causing trouble among the communities they inhabited in order to start a fight. Anyone who engaged a red-eye would have to be extremely careful, as they had a powerful natural weapon.
Most of the time a red-eye kept their eyes tightly shut, for when they opened them, they could shoot powerful bolts of energy from them. A red-eyes vision was such that they could see vague outlines even with their eyes closed[1]
Red-eyes were often disdainful towards members of other intelligent races, most particularly humans. In turn, their volatile temper and their baleful eyes made them undesirable in orderly societies, forcing them into a nomadic existence. Only in border settlements or where the dregs of society merged could they normally find a place to stay, such as in the cityport of Kharé.[2] Because of this, red-eyes normally possessed little and often dressed in little better than rags, adding to their resentment of others.[3]
Special Abilities[]
Each time a red-eye suffered a wound in combat, they would open its eyes and shoot at its opponent. On receiving their first wound the red-eye's shot could often be avoided. The second blast could be avoided slightly less often than the first and so on until the shot hit automatically. Each shot that hit caused damage; if a red-eye's deadly vision hit the same person twice, they would die.[4]
