Remstar was the court wizard and Magister of King Kraal.

History[]

During his life, he studied the ancient civilization of Sarchan, and the Arcanomicon of Sorcerer-Kings, a book gathering the knowledge of the Sorcerer-Kings about magic and traveling between worlds. But, as he was not considered good enough by Sallazar to join him in Sanctuary, Remstar never share his knowledge with the Grand Wizard.[1]

Following the fall of the Great Fire Wall, he was contacted by the spirit of Sallazar to warn the king of the coming Demonwar. However, he was used against his will by the Bone Demon as a messenger to challenge the king. [2] Consequent to the defeat of Kraal, and the fall of Castle Argent, the spirit and magic of Remstar were manipulated by the Bone Demon in order to get informations about the rebellion during the Demonwar. [3]

By the time that the warlock Zagor from Titan merged with the Bone Demon to become a Demon inside Castle Argent, Remstar was dead, killed by Mungus, and haunting the castle as a ghost.[4] He sought to gain peace by asking those who knew his name to give up part of their life force, and would attack if they refused, while would simply accept a bribe from those who did not know his identity. [5][6]

A Dark Elf Wizard in Castle Argent was terrified of Remstar and even mentioning the name Remstar could anger him. [7] It appears that the Dark Elf, who specialised in necromancy and mutant creation, used to serve the Bone Demon and so likely fears Remstar in case the wizard seeks retribution for his torment.[8][9]

Contradiction in references[]

According to Casket of Souls, Remstar was killed by a War Dragon before the defeat of the Bone Demon. [10] But in Legend of Zagor, it is said he was killed by Mungus. [11]
