Sightmasters were a race of humanoid in the Fighting Fantasy world.
Description[]
Sightmasters generally looked like Humans, except that they were more slender in build and possessed oversized eyes.[1]
Origins and Distribution[]
The origin of the Sightmasters was believed to be that they were a group of Humans who were mutated by Chaos; unlike most such species however, the majority of Sightmasters did not become evil as a result of this mutation.[2]

A Sightmaster sergeant in the service of the crown of Analand
Sightmasters were natives to the continent called the Old World. Their people had long since been allies of the royal house of Analand, and they served as the country's border guards thanks to their sharp sight.[3] Many Sightmasters trained as border guards in the famous Academy of Battlemasters in Chawberry Wood.[4] However, this information applied only to the people in general, as individual Sightmasters had been known to ally themselves with other forces, such as warlord or chieftain.[5]
Such brigands were often not above using their reputation as border guards to dupe unwary travellers.
A Sightmaster had also been recorded supervising competitive races in the caves of Craggen Rock in northern Allansia.[6]
Special Abilities[]
The eyes of a Sightmaster enabled it to see into far distances, in effect replacing the use of a telescope for ordinary Humans.[1] Their keen sight also renders them immune to optical illusions (illusions affecting other senses might still affect them normally).[7] They could also see invisible foes.
