Sourbelly and his partner Fatnose were a pair trolls that worked as elite Port Blacksand City Guard.[1]
Description[]
Patrolling the streets of Port Blacksand, Sourbelly and Fatnose stop suspicious looking individuals to check their merchants pass and enforce Lord Azzur's iron will. Sourbelly is surprisingly perceptive for a troll, and is capable of asking trick questions to discern when a suspect is being deceitful.[2]
Sourbelly is said to be the larger of the pair[3], although in precisely what way none will say to his face. His sister, Ivy, was a guard in the first incarnation of the infamous Deathtrap Dungeon.
Further Notes[]
- Sourbelly was depicted by artist Iain McCaig with the likeness of Ian Livingstone as a form of cameo for the author.
- In the book City of Thieves, Sourbelly is encountered along with his partner Fatnose on Mill Road near the city wall as the hero draws close to departure.[4]
