Rules[]

The book in general follows the original rules set down in The Warlock of Firetop Mountain. (see Game System)

Unique Rules[]

  • If told to eat and the player has no Provisions, the player must lose 3 stamina points.
  • If the player has no weapon, their skill score is reduced by 2 points till they find a weapon.
  • If the player has no armour, their Attack Strength is reduced by 2 points till they find some armour.
  • If playing as a Wizard, the player has a series of magic spells that can be used, each costing between 1 and 4 stamina points. They must also deduct 2 additional points from their skill score to reflect a lack of training in combat.
  • The player may also call upon the help of Libra, the goddess of Justice, once in the adventure (she may not be called upon again till the events of The Seven Serpents). In calling on her the player may ask for Revitalization (restoration of skill, stamina, or luck points to their Initial level; Escape which allows you (when the text offers it) to escape a situation; or Removal of Curses and Diseases which can take place at any time and removal all curses or diseases that the player labours under at the time.

Equipment List[]

The player begins with no equipment.

Main Characters[]

YOU: Hero of Sorcery!

Locations[]

Encounters[]

Further Notes[]

  • The adventure is contemporaneous with Kharé - Cityport of Traps, beginning at paragraph (179).
  • The author used the new map of Kakhabad and took great pains to ensure that the links to the Seven Serpents are accurate, i.e. if you walk due north for long enough you will reach the temple on the map.
  • Although you can buy equipment you cannot gain access to spell components that weren't available in either Sorcery 1 or 2.
  • There are several paths through the book but you need to be careful to reach Sorcery 3 "quickly" enough to still be able to kill all seven of the Seven Serpents.
