Creation[]

Background[]

This adventure is set at the bottom of an ancient well where nobles and princes of long ago used to come, cast in their gold coins and make their wishes. All this gold collected in the bottom of the well. When the well dried up, treasure hunters from far and wide set off to find it, hoping for riches. But when they reached the well, they found that the quests ahead of them were far more dangerous than they had thought ...[2]

Rules[]

The mini adventure follows the rules set down in Fighting Fantasy - The Introductory Role-Playing Game. The revised version follows the rules as laid out in Advanced Fighting Fantasy – The Roleplaying Game.

Equipment List[]

Illustrations[]

The illustrations were by Duncan Smith. Due to the small number of references each paragraph receives an illustration to match. There were 18 full page illustrations and 5 minor repeated illustrations scattered throughout the text. Smith's illustrations were not used in the revised edition.

The black and white map was also by Duncan Smith. A similar but new map, presumably by Graham Bottley, was included in the revised edition.

Further Notes[]

  • Pookie and Glantie originally appeared in Shaggradd's Hives of Peril and are said to have fled here from there.
  • Il Pozzo dei Desideri is a fan-written alternative of The Wishing Well and not just an Italian translation. The overall approach to this variation is based on having a common thread through all rooms and encounters, so that everything is ultimately connected.
