The Usai were a tribe of dark-skinned humans who dwelt on Bone Island in the Western Ocean.

At the time of the events described in Bloodbones, they were ruled over by Queen Zyteea.
Despite the report in Captain Marlin's log that the Usai were cannibals, this was not true. Rather, they were a peace-loving, civilised, intelligent people.[1]
