wok is a spell in The Sorcery Spell Book requiring 1 stamina point and a Gold Coin to use.

This spell fixes a coin to the caster's wrist, creating an invisible three foot wide metal shield, but destroying the coin.[1]

In the Advanced Fighting Fantasy version of The Sorcery Spell Book, the coin becomes a weightless large magical shield which disappears after a number of minutes equal to the sorcerer's Inner Strength.[2]

Use in the Sorcery! series Edit

This spell usually deducts two from the Attack Strength of any enemy.[3] It can also protect from missiles[4] or falling objects.[5] The shield lasts long enough to explore the Temple of Courga in Kharé.[6]
