The White Dragon (also known as the Ice Dragon) was undoubtedly the most unpredictable of all dragons, attacking anything on sight in order to continue stocking up their vast larders, for in the frozen wastes in which they dwelt, they could go for months without seeing anything at all. They would usually use their own breath to freeze the bodies of their victims, thus ensuring that they would remain attached to the larder walls, and would claw them out when they needed to eat.[1]
Description[]
The typical white dragon would grow to about twenty-five metres in length, and their scales were a brilliant white. They had a pair of short horns stretching horizontally outwards from either side of their skull, and a pair of downwards-curving horns extremely similar to those sometimes seen on a red dragon. They also featured a row of long spines down their back, ending at a short distance down their tail.
As with all dragons, their wingspan was easily that of their full length, and their tongue was not in fact forked, which was a common misconception. However, their eyes were still dangerous to look into without permission, as they can easily hypnotise a person or crush their spirit.
The majority of White Dragons could speak several languages, of both humanoid and animal races, and many adults were apt to possess some magical ability also.
Origins and Distribution[]
They preferred to inhabit vast caves or castles carved from the ice itself, which enabled them to keep just warm enough to survive, even though a white dragon was only able to live in sub-zero temperatures.
As white dragons were only capable of surviving in sub-zero temperatures, so extreme is their development, this meant that whenever a Conclave was assembled, it would have to be in their territories, effectively granting them arbiter status during that time.
Special Abilities[]
- A White Dragon had ice for its breath, leading to its alternative name "Ice Dragon", and using it often in combat. If it hit, you could expect greater damage from an adult dragon and less damage from a young dragon.
