The Year of the Shark is the nineteenth in the twenty year cycle of Titan, shared across all civilised cultures and many semi-civilised ones.

It is said that a person born during the Year of the Shark lacks the full range of emotions possessed by others, and are instead endowed with extraordinary logical and rational abilities. This makes them very eerie to most people, and causes them to be viewed with suspicion or outright fear whenever they start to acquire power. Astrologers claim that good matches for a Shark Person can be found among those born in the Years of the Snake and the Owl, whilst the worst are to be found among those born in the Years of the Lion and Mouse.
