The Zanzunu Peaks are a range of high mountains to the north of Kakhabad in the Old World.[1] The mountains are high, cloud-covered peaks; frequent rains in the area mean the Zanzunus sustain plenty of plant life.[2] The passes of the Zanzunu Peaks are prone to sudden landslides, and travellers in the region are warned to be exceedingly careful.[3] The Mampang Fortress, headquarters of the Archmage of Mampang, is located in the High Xamen region of the Zanzunus.[4] The hidden city of Throben is believed to lie "beyond the Zanzunus."[5]
Inhabitants[]
The uncivilised Human tribe called the Beastmen live in the Zanzunu foothills.[6] Tribes of Bird Men make their base in these peaks.[7] Communities of She-Satyrs live in cave villages in the southern Zanzunu mountains.[8]
Little other information is available about the mountains' inhabitants, although the Severed Arm tribe of Orcs is known to inhabit the Zanzunus.[9]
