Zephyrus (or the Zephyrus Tempest[1]) is a giant storm, the largest in the Ocean of Tempests. Within, Zephyrus contains the hidden floating islands of Pangaria.[2]
In the eye of the storm, deep within Zephyrus, the air is said to be "sweet and calm", and beneath this the sea is usually a calm and rich fishing ground, though there is still always the risk of the ferocious sea creatures which inhabit the Ocean of Tempests.[2][1] Here the six islands of Pangaria float in the air.[2]
The storms of the Ocean of Tempests, including Zephyrus, have been called "the children of Pangara", the god of Winds.[2] Zephyrus is sometimes anthopomorphised, for example the surrounding storm has been referred to as "the protective arms of the giant Zephyrus Tempest", and in the Pangarian saying "By Zephyrus' breath!"[2]
