Zombies were a type of undead monster.[1][2][3]
Description[]
A zombie was essentially a corpse raised from death by necromancy. They retained no memories of their life before death and had no sentience, seeking only to serve their master, and simply standing about otherwise.[2]
For the most part zombies dressed in rags and fought with their claws.[2]
Beside the "standard" type of zombie, a variation called the plague zombie existed.[4] While these were statistically the same as normal zombies, they were rendered doubly dangerous by their nature as carriers of fatal diseases.
Some zombies retained their skills or weaponry after their zombification.[5]
They could be harmed by holy water, which acted like acid to them.[2]
Special Abilities[]
Normal zombies had no particular abilities, except as dictated by their undead nature.
Further Notes[]
- In Fighting Fantasy - The Introductory Role-Playing Game, zombies had the ability to raise their victim from the dead as zombies themselves, each with the same statistics as their slayer.[6] In subsequent publications, however, this ability was discarded and transferred to the plague zombies.
